Hoplite part 4

Well this is taking longer than I expected. I keep putting it off because it needs so much work, a vicious cycle of procrastination.

I added putty to the top of the plume to give it some texture, before this it was just smooth flat plastic.

Next, the inside of the shield has some type of braided rope that goes around the inner circumference of the shield. I anchored small diameter wire to my light and just started braiding it, I hope it looks natural when it's attached to the shield.

And the biggest set back for me, the feet. The toes were basically one large rectangle of plastic. Between this and not really feeling motivated enough to do a good sculpting job, I barely worked on this kit over the past two months. I know it's probably a simple job, but I want to do it right.

German Stug III

Here's a dusty older tank I made a couple years back. It's a German Stug III Ausf F by Dragon (a Japanese company that makes model kits). The tanks full name is Sturmgeschütz, which means Assault Gun in German. At first it was just an infantry support tank but later in the war it was modified to be a tank destroyer. It had a very low profile to it, which meant it could be easily placed in an ambush position, unlike other tanks which could be very tall and left an obvious silhouette.

This is actually one of the first models I took seriously when I was building it, you should see some of my first models, they were horrible. I think I still have two planes left (f-4 phantom and I think a p-40), I'll see if I can dig em out and get some pictures.

I tried to get most of the dust an pet fur off but didn't want to risk breaking something. I'm already missing the periscope that's supposed to be in that slot on the top. Also, the pictures are kind of large, 1469x1102. And that's cut in half from the originals.

Sunday Football Sub

Scooby Doo, I hope I make you proud:

Black forest ham, turkey, salami, big slices of peperoni, provolone cheese, big fat round black olives and lettuce with Italian dressing on an Italian loaf of bread.

Loaf...that's a funny word. Loaf, loaf,  lohaf. lofe. loaf loaf loaf loaf loaf loaf loaf loaf.

I made a sub like this before with bacon and swiss instead of provolone and with mayo and mustard, but I think I prefer the Italian dressing over mayo/mustard.

M-18 Hellcat Pt. 5

Hmmm, It's been awhile since the last update on the Hellcat, I think I was about to cut the wall in half and start adding grass and stuff.

I repainted the wall to look more earthy and added flowers and some yellow stuff that might resemble dandelions. I was hoping for a wild, untamed landscape, maybe a couple goats or sheep roamed around at one point or something.

 Before the wall was cut:

And after the wall is cut:

And before  I was talking about the base being too crowded on the base, this is what it would look like:

I'm gonna keep the tree on the left, the big bushy one.

The yellow stuff came from the hobby shop, forgot what it's called but it's like a mesh that you pull apart to determine how thick you want it. The flowers are the...dried flowers I showed a couple posts back. I just snipped the ends off and painted em red or left them purple.

He can't catch a break

He just never learns...

Coyote statue on shelf + wild cat chasing moth = disaster.

I  watched, partly in horror and partly in amusement as the cat landed on the shelf like an alien crashing into a populated city, the shelf slowly bending downwards before snapping out of the wall, sending everything on it tumbling down like...like

 Like that

"We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better...stronger...faster"

This is the first steps of being repaired, the arm with the book was broke off, as was the finger pointing at the book.

Now how long is this gonna take to fix?

The statue was sort of a gift for doing good in  my first semester at the university. The base says "Perpetual Student" and the book he's trying to read is  "How to be A Genius". I got a tip toward his path to enlightenment, stop buying crap from acme.

It's been a long time since I rock and rolled, It's been a long time since I did the Stroll

One month, turned to three which turned into six months in a blink of an eye, a fart from a mosquito, like juicy gossip traveling through a gated community. That's half a year since my last post...uh oh, maybe I should add or say something.

Bought a new guitar! Three in the morning with my Fender Starcaster, Line 6 spider jam amp and headphones, so here's something that resembles a cat dieing!

A little more has been done on the modeling front, will get those pictures up soon. No paint on the Greek hoplite though, ran into a major brick wall and lost pretty much any motivation.

And I like writing, or at least pretending I'm a writer so I might post some short stories or...paragraphs or even weird dreams. I don't know, something to keep you interested.
